For Parents

Arrival and Departure Protocols
  • The monitor will be present at all times during the visit.

  • The custodial parent must arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time and return exactly at the end of the scheduled visit.

  • Custodial parents or their designees must leave the premises immediately after drop-off and pick-up.

  • The non-custodial parent must arrive exactly at the scheduled time and return 15 minutes before the scheduled visit ends.

  • Fees must be paid in full (cash only) prior to each visit. No refunds will be given.

  • Parents arriving more than 5 minutes early or late will be charged $2 per additional minute.

Prohibited Behaviors
  • Inappropriate or unwanted physical contact with the child(ren).

  • Use of foul language, shouting, or threats of violence.

  • Attempts to move child(ren) out of the monitor’s sight or hearing.

  • Any contact between custodial and non-custodial parents or their designees.

  • Using children or monitors to pass messages, court documents, or discuss child support.

  • Sharing court documents or sensitive legal details with children.

  • Speaking negatively about the other parent in front of the child(ren).

  • Questioning child(ren) about the other parent’s activities.

  • Drug or alcohol use within 24 hours of a visit is strictly prohibited. Visits may be canceled if use is suspected.

General Expectations
  • Only court-authorized family members or guests may attend visits. Anyone not following monitor rules may be asked to leave or result in cancellation.

  • Monitors will only exchange essential information, such as medical needs or pre-measured medication.

  • Non-compliance with any rule, or attempts to challenge the authority of the monitor, may result in termination of services.

Safety and Boundaries
  • No weapons or items that may be used as weapons are allowed.

  • All gifts must be pre-approved and limited to special occasions (e.g., holidays, birthdays).

  • Snacks may be brought for the child(ren) only if agreed upon by both parents.

  • Permanent alterations to a child’s appearance (e.g., piercings, haircuts) are not allowed without prior custodial parent consent.

  • Photographs are only permitted with written consent from the custodial parent and approval from administration. No audio or video recordings are allowed.

Communication and Language
  • English must be spoken unless a bilingual monitor is present.

  • Parents must speak at a volume that allows the monitor to hear clearly. No whispering.

  • Phone calls and personal device use are prohibited during visits unless there’s an emergency.

Schedule and Cancellations
  • The visitation schedule must be followed weekly unless a court or monitor-approved change is made in advance.

  • To cancel a weekend visit, parents must notify by Friday at 5:00 p.m.

  • Holiday cancellations require one week’s notice.

  • If the visiting parent is more than 15 minutes late without notice, the visit will be canceled, and full payment will be required.

  • All non-emergency calls regarding scheduling should be made Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (PST).

💛 For Kids: What to Expect at Your Visit

Hi there!
We know visits with a parent can bring up all kinds of feelings — excitement, nerves, even questions. That’s okay. Our job at Guardian Angel Supervised Child Visits is to make sure that your time is safe, comfortable, and supported.

Welcome To Your Visit
💛Before Your Visit
💛Keeping You Safe

You’ll get to meet me — the supervising adult — before your first visit. This helps you feel more comfortable and gives us time to talk about what the visit will be like. You can also ask any questions you might have. Your parent will let you know a few days ahead of time:

  • Where the visit will be

  • Who will be there

  • How long the visit will last

Sometimes, it’s important that certain information stays private. If the visiting parent asks about things like:

  • Where you live

  • What school or daycare do you go to

  • Who your teacher is

I will step in and let them know that those questions aren’t allowed. If I don’t catch it right away, you can just say:
“I don’t know,” or “I don’t remember.”

💛What You Can Bring

It’s totally fine to bring something that makes you feel good:

  • A favorite toy, book, blanket, or stuffed animal

  • A snack you like

  • Even a parent’s watch or small item to help you feel connected

💛During The Visit
💛Sharing Your Feelings

It’s okay to feel mad, sad, happy, or unsure. You can talk to me about anything, and if you feel like talking to the visiting parent about your feelings, that’s okay too — but only when you’re ready.

Remember: This visit is for you, and I’m here to make sure it feels safe and calm the whole time.

  • I’ll always be there to help you feel safe and supported.

  • I’ll talk in ways that make sense to you — using words you understand.

  • You’ll never be asked to say or do anything you don’t want to.

  • If you need a break at any time, just let me know. We can even come up with a secret hand signal so you can tell me without using words.

💛 Why These Visits Matter To You

Supervised Visitation is a way for you to spend time with your other parent (the one you don’t live with most of the time) in a safe, calm place. These visits help you keep a connection with them — which is something really important and special.

Our job is to make sure you feel safe, supported, and as relaxed as possible. We’re here to help you enjoy your time together without stress or worry.
